Joint Virtual Meeting
IIBA Palmetto, DC Metro, and Cleveland Chapters

Wednesday, January 17, 2024

6:30 PM - 8:00 PM ET

Agile approaches such as Scrum and Kanban emphasize the use of self-organizing, self-managing teams.  But does the concept really work?  Can teams really perform efficiently without constant oversight and interference from management? If you’ve ever been on a high-performing team, you know the answer is yes.
For those of you who haven’t had that opportunity, or who may need to convince others in your organization of the value….let’s play a game and experience it firsthand! Teams of participants will perform simulated work in a series of five iterations, with time provided between iterations for reflection and improvement.  At the end of the activity, participants will clearly understand key benefits of self-management

  • Leadership that emerges from within the team
  • Improved ability to estimate work and meet delivery commitments
  • Managing the flow of work by limiting work in progress and eliminating bottlenecks
  • Establishing a level of output that is highly productive yet sustainable over the long term
**Miro will be used during this session. Read this tutorial to prepare to play the game! https://miro.com/miroverse/miro-basics-guide-for-new-participants/
